Mystery Circle

My story proceeds with a dark and winding road of realization. It’s late at night when my friend called me, he ask me to accompany him to a place he want to discover. We are going somewhere far where I can see the world deep down its core.
It’s overwhelming, the rumors are true. When you’re there you would feel the dark energy coming out from the trees. From a prestigious place by day lies a midnight secret, a haven for fun and satisfaction. A place where they can enjoy playing by themselves or tagging along with others.
It’s a spawning ground for disease. Everyone is anonymously hidden.Take note, Black Fabric to hide under the shade of light and blend in with darkness. The innocence is indeed unknown under their skin. But for me, it is time to remove my light.
It’s frightening to be left in the dark. The idea of entering the circle isn’t easy but I need to overcome my fear.
Everyone is staring; looking at each other, finding the right person to be their victim. It is dreary, dark and mystical. The lights at the outskirt is just a thin lining to cover the life inside the circle. I’ve been here for the first time and I was battling for my insanity.
These people had no choice but to cope up with the mystery behind the oblation. I can see their desperation and desire to be on top of things.
It is a sedative that will break your heart and soul. A one night that will define you as a human being. it seems like we’re loosing our self appreciation and granted this people a chance to defy who you really are. These people come and go. once they are done , they’ll forget you as if nothing happened.
These trees serves as their shelter when things are ready. A system and a cycle that is never ending. It feels like you’re up for the verdict of the others. Lining up for the result of your CT Scan.It is easy to make stories but it is hard to forget. It’s my history from now on. I won’t let my self be fed by the darkness of their souls.

Dark Alley

There are things that we cannot understand in a simple blink of an eye.  Seeing the spectrum of a radiant shine of the sky can hurt one’s eye but as a boy with a dream continue to grow; there is no limitation.

With a gloomy look at his face barefooted, Andrei walks slowly towards the alley slightly lit coming from the households. Crying his heart out for help he was ignored by many and thought he was crazy. In the dark path where he was walking, he saw a little boy with a malevolent smile approaching him and offers a piece of bread. He bends his knees and initiates a conversation with the boy.

“Hey! Thanks! What’s your name kid? I’m Andrei and I’m new here. Where are your parents?”  He asks reluctantly.

With a pen ready on his right hand the little boy brings out a piece of paper and started writing:

Hi! I’m Frank! My parents are busy selling goods at the market and I’m here with my sister, Angelica.

Andrei was stunned realizing that he is interacting with a mute kid.

“Ohh, I see. Then why are you still here? Aren’t you supposed to be at home by this time? It’s past midnight.”  His face looks worried.

We are actually waiting for you. We know for a fact that you’ll be here with us Frank and finally tonight our path crossed.

Puzzled with a lot of questions, he doesn’t know how to react on what Andrei meant. A mixture of cold breeze and tension struck him. The boy in front of him talks out of context and that’s what makes the situation he’s into more confusing.

“Do I know you? Have we met before?”

You should know the feeling of being alone. Don’t be afraid Andrei you will never feel that pain again.

“What do you mean by that? Are you going nuts? I’m not here to play with you kid. Better scare other people than me.” He shouted and turned his back returning to the path he had been.

A loud bang from the other side of the alley can be heard that stops Andrei from walking. He saw a group of teens running towards him holding a bottle of Molotov and started throwing it to different directions that set fire to the households. He was utterly speechless and frightened to what he is seeing. He heard loud squeals of poor souls running with their bodies on fire and one walking towards him.

While he was focusing and trying to stop the madness of his own mind, burnt newspapers descend on the floor. Some of the articles are readable and he picks it up.

Written on the paper was about the Burning of the alley 5 years ago caused by homeless teenage boys. Ashes from the building started to fall as if it is raining. The eerie vibe of the place grew worst causing him a hard time to think straight.

“What is the meaning of this? This can’t be happening.”

“Yes, it already happened. And how come you don’t remember what happened?” An unfamiliar voice echoed.

He turns his back and is mortified by the burnt face of a teenage girl. Panic attacked him. He started to think of his way out and there is only one thing left on his mind, to escape the situation he’s been into.

“I CAN’T DIE TONIGHT.I just simply can’t. There’s a lot of things that I still need to accomplish.” He shouted.

“Why don’t we accomplish the things you need and let’s start with this?” Angelica said.

“What are you saying? I barely know you and I don’t have any intentions of knowing you further.”

“too late Andrei, I’ve known you too well; too well that I have your fate in my hands and their hands.

A group of people swiftly appear at the back of Angelica. Staring at him intently that piercing stare has a unified message you’re bound to be with us Andrei, don’t evade your reality.

He runs until he still feels that his foot is on the ground. Andrei runs as fast as he can for he knows as this might be the last of his life.

“Stop running! There’s no way you can escape this! We’re already dead!” Angelica shouts at the top her lungs.

A burning sensation from his feet grew upward to his body. As he turned left, he was stunned. He saw his reflection; he was half alive with his face severely burnt.

Still, engross with the story he is currently writing,

“In a minute mom!” Andrei shouted. Closing his laptop Andrei heads out of his room to eat his lunch.

When Perfection is not enough

We are dictated by our social norms, attitude, skills and by our parents (Sometimes or maybe all the time for some).

We’ve been through a lot and every day is another day to fight. We’re drowned and blinded by our perfection; to strive hard and be better. But when is the perfect time to stop? When will you be perfectly enough?

tumblr_nqj8an966W1r90377o1_500

We were taught by our parents to dream big and reach for the sky. We follow the rules as they set the example of how we become the person they want us to be. I realize how hard for the others to make their own decisions, especially when they are bounded by their parent’s dreams. They want you to become someone who you’re not.

We cannot blame them for what they want, but they forget that we have our own life.

We live by expectations and suffer from odd frustrations, we live by what we know is right and then they come along to the rescue! Of course, we came from different culture and tradition and I cannot generalize that we all have the same parent who is strict, fickle minded and abusive or a parent who is caring, lovable and affectionate. Either way, we simply need to stick with the rules, they will always be our parents and they are the ones who are very well-known for criticizing our mistakes.

giphy (9)

We became the standard of their perfection.

I grew up being independent on what I want in my life (from my Graduating high school and up to now). My parents usually advise me on what should I do about the path I’m taking but they never dictate nor force me to become the man whom they want me to be. But one thing I wish for them to notice my goodness because sometimes all they can see is my imperfections. You want to be perfectly enough but you’re not.

giphy (10)

We set our standards high, So they expect high.

Just like a bread, we are crumpled, crushed and punched before we became a perfectly kneaded dough. This process takes time and effort, no one bakes with a single ingredient, a dough does not bake on its own and a perfectly baked bread requires a certain amount of sweat, tears, and blood to shed until it is ready to be served.

giphy (8)Don’t let them consume you because you’re perfectly enough.

Rise up and stand, seize the day and be proud. We are not written in books but we can be the writer of our own story.

It’s not bad to dream high, we are the makers of our own story. This is no fair tale but our stories are too damn good be one.

Paint

Hide. Run. Cover.

Hide all your insecurities

make good memories

Smile, just let go

Like a feather you will flow.

Run Like a kid

Throw it all away

There’s no tomorrow

Soon you will be free.

Cover it with glow

Don’t sit in the front row

Disguise and watch the show

Calm yourself, remove your shoe.

Just like paint

Let it dry

Cry, Wipe it out

No one will know .

Inside the Black Mirror

Without change there is no innovation, creativity, or incentive for improvement. Those who initiate change will have a better opportunity to manage the change that is inevitable.
William Pollard

Are you sick about today’s generation?

Face it, fellas! The 21st century is not our temple anymore. This period is the hell hole to incinerate and roast others for their self-proclaimed fame.

There is always a room for everything and the mainstream platform evolves every day that becomes bigger and wider the cyberspace. It is our platform of information and now it became the spawning ground of malicious, racial, sarcastic and egotistic acts. As what the new age quotation says:

We are what we post.

Blatant mouth is not an excuse for irresponsible posting; hating of other person’s post is also illogical (unless it is a negative thought that might break you). All we need to do is think before we post. We have the capacity to build and destroy bonds with other people, we have the power to influence a decision, composure, and growth.

We need balance and peace, everyone! Don’t let your hate become the source of pain in this agonizing world we’re living.

Freedom of speech isn’t prohibited but a sharp tongue without wisdom is relative to ignorance.

C’mon! We’re not kids anymore! We have the brain to critically think about our actions. As to what I’ve observed to this generation, (as if I’m too old to comment and was born in the 80s), we depend on what we always see and what we know is accessible our own black mirrors. We created technology; now, technology breaks through to control us.

There’s more to life, don’t let yourself go old staring in your black mirror

Disclaimer:  This post is just a reflection of my perspective about the evolving technology. I’m not hating or bashing about the improvement or innovation of our technology, I also use it every day and there’s no escape to this.

Watch What Happens

“Write what you know”
so they say, all I know is I don’t know what to write
or the right way to write it.

-Katherine Plumber, Newsies Musical

As of Now, I am living the life of Jack Kelly not literally but metaphorically.

Strong willed. Caring. Dreamer.tumblr_nnhxbqWeDl1utn3ffo1_500

Weeks from now I’ll be facing new people who share the same passion like me ( Not all actually but I’m looking forward to working with them). I voluntarily work with Telstra Foundation and will open their 3rd season in the last week of July at Pasay North High school. It is their 3rd year of Helping and Nurturing students in different walks of life. Saturdays are fun when you’re on the run to teach students about theater.

I’m not a professional actor nor a professional educator but what I know about is:

Sharing is less painful than paying.

Well known for my pabibo kid moves in terms of brainstorming and leadership back when I was in high school, I became one of the students whom you can rely on. Before entering college I have this speck of dream to become an educator. I took Mass Communication to Overcome my fear of people; On this serious note,  Social Anxiety remains but once I get along with others, I furiously run on your doorstep like flash.

Strike for a Change and Watch What Happens

The excitement and thrill of knowing new people with different personalities are the best. My hopes and dreams are high and becoming a professional theater actor is a long way up to the cellar but this is enough to fuel my passion in educating and sharing my experiences to this young fellas.

Like what Jack Kelly said:

For A dreamer, night’s the only time of daytumblr_mbw57olwsl1r5wzpco1_500.gif

And as for the Newsies:

When you got a million voices singing, who can hear a lousy whistle blow?

Opportunities are just around the corner and one thing I know is that someday my own dreams will chase after me and sit while we both watch it all happen.
